Aeroponics is an above-ground method of growing plants derived from hydroponics. The roots are kept in suspension in a vacuum, inside a dark spray chamber that is shaped like a tower. The nutrient solution is sprayed on the roots at regular intervals.
This cultivation technique is up to 10 times more productive than a traditional method of agriculture. It is adapted to the urban environment because it is light and takes little space compared to the number of plants that can be cultivated (up to 44 plants per 1 m²).
